Fume Scrubbers and Acid Treatment Systems

Fume scrubbers and their analoguous acid treatment systems are typically used in both CVD and Fluoride Cleaning operations. Since the precursors used typically generate acid wastes either HCl or HF typicaly, the waste products need to be "scrubbed" out of the exhaust gas train. The goal is to remove 99% of the effluent by reacting with KOH or NaOH.

Typical acid treatment system.

System Components

Typical systems include a pH probe and meter, caustic soda delivery system, a treatment tank and the fume scrubber proper - normally consisting of a vennturi section as well as a treatment column, a gas input line (and valve), a bypass (in the event of clogging) and finally an output.
